Kevin's team looked after us from the airport to the flight out of Kokoda. My porter Moses walked beside me on every descent. Village nights at Efogi and Alola were the highlight.

Well organised, honest about how hard it would be, and the guides' knowledge of the 1942 campaign made every ridge mean something. Food on the track was better than expected.

The early pass to watch the groups getting dressed was worth the trip on its own. Guesthouse was clean and the Wahgi Valley day was a great break from the crowds.
