Took my parents visiting from Kerala. Rouna Falls, lunch on the plateau and the Varirata lookout — easy walking and a lovely guide. We'll do the Rouna Ridge walks next.

Lovely garden room, a proper cooked breakfast and very kind hosts. We did the Sogeri day tour from the gate and stayed the night before our Kokoda walk.

Excellent access at the show and a very good guide. The Goroka flight was delayed half a day, which was handled well, but the first afternoon felt rushed as a result.

Everything worked: flights, guesthouse, show passes. Our guide knew many of the groups and introduced us, which made the photographs far better. Already booked for next year.

My grandfather's brother served in New Guinea. The guide took time to help us find the right section and told the story of the campaign with real respect.

The early pass to watch the groups getting dressed was worth the trip on its own. Guesthouse was clean and the Wahgi Valley day was a great break from the crowds.

Well organised, honest about how hard it would be, and the guides' knowledge of the 1942 campaign made every ridge mean something. Food on the track was better than expected.

The team looked after us from the airport to the flight out of Kokoda. My porter Moses walked beside me on every descent. Village nights at Efogi and Alola were the highlight.
