Mount Giluwe is the highest volcano in Oceania, a broad 4,367 m massif of old volcanic plugs rising out of alpine grassland on the border of the Southern and Western Highlands. It is walked as a shorter summit climb or as a longer traverse across its tarns and grassland, and is among the more approachable of the country's 4,000 m peaks.
