A rarely climbed Owen Stanley peak, reached through moss forest and high grassland: few trekkers, and a summit above 4,000 metres.
Mount Victoria, at 4,072 m, is the lowest of Papua New Guinea's 4,000 m peaks but among the least visited, standing in the Owen Stanley Range above the Kokoda Track. The trek approaches through villages on the range's flanks and climbs through cloud forest and tree-fern grassland to a summit from which both the north and south coasts can be seen on a clear morning.
